 High Cost of Kits

Conversion kits can be expensive and outside the reach of average Nigerian. This is because they have to be imported and require special fuel storage tanks and other equipment to use CNG fuel. 

ZTEN, envisage cost to gradually get lower as we start production of some of the components and more people convert their vehicles and generators to run on CNG

Safety Concerns

CNG is flammable gas and could be highly explosive when handle wrongly. 

This is why ZTEN, promote training to high-level and Certification at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife. Osun State.

We also provide on-site for those unable to travel to the University due to distance etc.

Fuelling Infrastructure

Limited refuelling infrastructure is a major concern in Nigeria. This is because it is capital intensive for Station Operators on one hand and health and safety on the other. Presently, majority of Nigeria refuelling stations are in high populated density towns and cities. Nigeria maintenance culture need revamping to site CNG within high populated density areas.

ZTEN, is the only Nigerian refuelling sighting their Station outside populated areas, on Motorways e.g. Lagos – Ibadan Express Road, Ibadan – Ile-Ife – Ilesha – Akure – Ado Ekiti etc.

Another disadvantage is lack of local pipeline network. ZTEN, provide campus solution e.g., within an Estate Manage environment. Local resident can benefit from using CNG as cooking fuel

Distance Cover

Begin a Compressed Gas, the flow of gas to the engine is governed be the pressure in the tank. When compared to LNG or LPG, which are liquid and pumped like petrol into the engine, they carry more energy punch than CNG, and you could cover more kilometre than equivalent CNG but are more expensive.

In the case of LPG, it is not as environmentally friendlier as CNG and LNG. Whereas ZTEN is pushing for N45.00 per litre equivalent for CNG, LPG is much more expensive.
